Many of the unleaded petrol engine vehicles can be converted to run on auto gas. The cost that you will incur in the recoupling can be covered in two years. Auto gas is the term used generally for Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), when it is used for the propulsion of the road vehicles. When compared to the petrol, petrol has high-octane content. The calorific value of LPG is higher due to which the power generated is higher compared to petrol. This implies that one litre of LPG will produce more energy than similar quantity of petrol. The use of LPG instead of petrol will not create carbon deposit inside the engine due to which engine life becomes longer.

Lpg Conversions LPG certainly has certain competitive advantages over the other commonly used automotive fuels. The smoother combustion of auto gas results in higher-octane content. Unlike other fuels, no additives are required. Auto gas contains no lead and is therefore much cleaner. It is much better than petrol because the LPG reaches the engine in pure gas form which in turn results in better combustion. By the use of LPG, life of the engine is extended. This is because of the absence of acids and carbon deposits. The engine oil does not become diluted and thereby reducing the servicing cost. The other advantage is that there are no starting problems unlike diesel. Engine performance is almost same as like petrol.

There is no pilfering and is even much safer than petrol.
Petrol can easily be adulterated with kerosene and malpractice’s are possible in quantity, where as in L.P.G. adulteration is very difficult while on the other hand petrol can be easily adulterated and malpractice is possible.LPG is being used as alternative automobile fuel for more than 45 years in Europe. A wide range of manufacturers such as American car companies like Ford, General Motors and Daimler-Chrysler are offering propane-powered options on some models.
Typically, you won’t find these cars on the showroom floor — they have to be special ordered.

The usage of LPG and the necessity that has brought it into attention of every one concerned with the degrading condition of our environment is because it is considerably cleaner than regular petrol and diesel fuels.

LPG is now a legal form of automotive fuel after the necessary modifications into the rules and acts governing the use of automotive fuels have been undertaken by the central government. Consumers now have the option to buy automobiles which are compliant to LPG as an automotive fuel or convert their existing non compliant automobiles to compliant LPG driven ones.

LPG being basically a hydro carbon fuel is available easily and in huge quantities. It is composed of propane and butane mostly. It has the basic advantage of reaching the combustion chamber in a pure form thereby being highly combustion efficient, burning uniformly and cleanly producing in the process less Sulphur and metal based pollutants.

The retro fitment kit and conversion

The retro fitting of a kit which enables the automobile to use LPG as an automotive fuel is what is known as LPG conversion. However having retro-fitted your automobile does not mean that you cannot further use the more common Petrol as an automotive fuel is not correct.

The automobile can be used on a duel fuel powered one by a switch which is installed on the automobiles dashboard enabling the owner / driver of the automobile to use either source of fuel based upon his requirement.

Thus the benefits of having an automobile that can run on either source of fuel gives the automobile driver / owner the option to either run on a relatively cleaner and eco-friendly source of fuel or also run the automobile on a the more traditional modes of fuel which can be handy when either of the source is empty or in short supply.

Safety compliance

The safety of the LPG is enhanced by the fact that these are conforming to the European standards. Thus they by inherent maintains the safety standards set by BIS code. The tanks are secured at the back of the car and come in various capacities depending upon the size and the boot capacity of the car in question.

Further if there are any instance of leakage the gas gets mixed in the air which reduces the chances of fire. Tests have further proved that keeping a car over a bonfire has not even produced any explosion of the gas. The emitted gas needs to be kept in a compressed environment and then set fire to enable it to explode, a rarity condition that one can imaging given the way passenger cars are manufactured these days.
